Anna Jermolaewa

Anna Jermolaewa was born in St Petersburg (Russia) in 1970 and has been living in Vienna since 1989. In 1998 she graduated from the University of Vienna, and in 2002 from the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna. From 2005 to 2011 she was Professor for Media Art at the University of Arts and Design in Karlsruhe (Germany). Jermolaewa’s work is held in the collections of the Stedelijk Museum, Friedrich Christian Flick Collection, Museum of Contemporary Art Kiasma, MUMOK, Volpinum Kunstsammlung, MUSA, Museum auf Abruf, Vienna, Tiroler Landesmuseum Ferdinandeum, Vehbi Koc Foundation, The Art Collection of Erste Group and the Belvedere, Vienna. Amongst others she was awarded the Ursula Blickle Förderpreis (2002), the T-Mobile art award (2006), and the outstanding artist award (2011). At steirischer herbst 2012 she will participate in the 24/7 marathon camp “Truth is concrete” and the exhibition “Art is concrete. And so is truth?” at Camera Austria.
